Knippa ISD Cefeteria Celebrates School Breakfast Week

The Knippa ISD cafeteria is excited to celebrate School Breakfast Week from March 6-9. We serve a healthy breakfast from 7:15 - 7:45 A.M that includes:
  • Whole grain breads, tortillas, cereals and crackers
  • Fresh fruit assortment
  • Fat free flavored milk and 1% white milk
  • Variety of 100% fruit juice

We want to encourage all of our students to eat healthy breakfast everyday so they will be ready to learn. Students who eat breakfast have increased focus, improved mood, more energy and a healthier immune system.

We will be giving away small prizes to students who eat a school breakfast next week. We have provided the menu below with some activities you can do with your child this week.

District Elementary Meet Results

Last Thursday, December 8th Knippa ISD hosted the UIL District Elementary Academic Meet. Our students competed very will and earned a total of 875 points overall which won the meet. Schools that competed where: Knippa, D'Hanis, Medina, Leakey, Nueces Canyon, Utopia and Rocksprings. Congratulations to our elementary students and staff for winning this years meet. Special Thanks to Mrs. Yeaman for her work preparing and coordinating last weeks meet. We would like to also thank the entire staff for their dedication and support which made the elementary meet a great success.

2016 Annual Thanksgiving Feast

Knippa ISD will again be celebrating our annual Thanksgiving feast next week. Parents are invited to a special luncheon on Friday, November 18, 2016. The menu will consist of turkey, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, green beans, fruit salad, rolls and pumpkin pie. The cost of the meal will be $4.00 for all guests and can be paid the day of the meal. Friday's lunch schedule is:

PK, Kinder 10:30 AM
Grades 1st - 2nd 11:00 AM
Grades 3rd - 4th 11:30 AM
Grades 5th - 8th 12:00 PM
Grades 9th - 12th 12:300 PM

Please fill out the reservation form on the attached file and return it by Monday, November 14. We hope that you can join us for lunch and see your child's projects displayed in the cafeteria.

Knippa Harvest Festival & Pre-Sale Tickets

The Knippa School will hold its annual Harvest Festival on Friday, October 28, 2016.
The activities will begin in the gym at 6:00 P.M. with the:
  • Crowning of Mr. and Miss KHS
  • Costume parade
Children in 4th grade or younger wearing a costume may participate in the costume parade. They will be called down for the parade. All participants will receive a Festival ticket. PLEASE keep your children up in the stands with you until after the crowing of Mr. and Miss KHS.
Immediately after the parade, the food, fun, and games will begin in the cafeteria and elementary building. There will be a variety of booths for your entertainment.  For more information please view attached Hand-out and PreSale Tickets.

National School Lunch Week - 2016

Celebrate lunch at Knippa ISD

Next week the cafeteria will be celebrating National School Lunch Week. Since we are in an election year, our theme is Vote for a Winning Lunch. You will have a chance to vote for your favorite meal of the week. We want to encourage all students to eat a healthy lunch everyday so all of our meals contain fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, low fat milk and lean proteins. We will be giving small daily prizes to everyone who eats a lunch from the cafeteria. We will also draw 4 lucky winners everyday for prize bags filled with healthy snacks and fun red, white and blue items. Come join us next week for a healthy lunch!

PTO Hamburger & Hotdog Sell

The Knippa PTO would like to inform everyone that they will be selling hamburgers, hot dogs, cookies, etc., for the Pink Out event October 4th night. Also, PTO wants to mention the proceeds will be benefiting Mrs. Jones. Come out and support our Lady Crushers as well as our Parent Teacher Organization.

Read - A - Thon Fundraiser

Parents: On Monday your student(s) brought home their personalized Read-A-Thon form.  The Read-A-Thon will begin on October 3rd.  The form instructs you how to create your students website.   The website allows students to send out emails to friends and family to help sponsor them during the Read-A-Thon.  Thank you for supporting our baseball teams educational fundraiser.

What is it?

Knippa Baseball is holding a Read-a-thon.

We know everyone will be happy with our decision to raise money by focusing on reading.

With your help we can raise lots of money while the kids work on their reading skills.

It's Easy.

How does it work?

Students are going to focus on reading.

You tell friends and family about the Read-a-thon. Lots of people will gladly donate money to support students reading efforts.

The student will get a FREE prize just for participating.

What do you need to do?
